pharmacological insomnia treatment prescribed by the sleep doctor to help you get a restful sleep

Drugs are neither good nor bad. They are simply well indicated or poorly indicated. And above all, in insomnia, it is essential to avoid self-mediation.

This is a persistent phenomenon in our current society. Insomnia is a pathology that greatly distresses those who suffer from it and are open to trying what other people take or advise them. The majority of insomniacs who self-medicate do so by mimicking family members or acquaintances.

In some clinical situations, pharmacological treatment (sleep inducers, antidepressants, anxiolytics…) can be of great help in short periods. Sometimes, pharmacological treatment is necessary. In any case, the decision of whether or not to use drugs, the type and doses will always be prescribed by the physician on a case-by-case basis.

This must assess the cause that causes the problem. If it requires pharmacological treatment, it must be prescribed.

Some of the drugs used, such as benzodiazepines, must be limited in time because they can cause addiction, tolerance and dependence, especially if used as self-medication.

We currently have drugs that do not produce these anomalies. The doctor responsible for making the diagnosis must be able to prescribe the appropriate drug.
